Introduction - A Brief Look At Our Gites
La Petite Guyonnière dates back to the mid 19th century and was originally a large farm. It has been a holiday destination for 18 years. It is divided into two gîtes, a traditional Vendéen farmhouse “Le Marronnier” and an attached cottage “La Petite Bouleau”. They can accommodate 12 and 4 people respectively.
When reserved together, the two gîtes can accommodate up to 16 people, a great option for large families or groups. We also offer the ground floor of Le Marronnier during the “low season”, May, Jun and Sep, which can sleep up to 8 people.
Our large and attractive swimming pool is open from May to Oct. It is fenced and alarmed for security and safety and is heated.
Le Marronnier is a lovely example of a traditional Vendée style farmhouse. It sleeps up to 12 people in large tastefully furnished rooms. It is equipped to ensure that your stay is as comfortable as possible. A home away from home.
La Petite Bouleau is a charming cottage that comfortably sleeps up to 4 people. Like the adjoining farmhouse it is spacious and well equipped. It has it’s own designated outside space to the rear, which leads out into the gardens.

The Vendée is of similar size to Devon, at 2,590 sq/miles. However, with less than half the population there is plenty of space, quiet roads and friendly people, great food and don’t forget the red wine. The road network is extensive, therefore a pleasure to drive, it is well signed and maintained. Coastal towns and villages can be busy during the summer months, but most other areas are quiet and consequently a real joy to explore by car, cycle or on foot.
Most towns and larger villages have an Office de Tourism (Tourist Office) with helpful staff, many of whom speak English.
